Abstract

The fish fauna of the Cri§/K6ros rivers comprises 49 native species (and an additional subspecies) and 12 exotic ones. Three of the native species are occasional inhabitants and six are found exclusively in standing waters. The river Crijul Repede/Sebes-Kor6s is the only river in Romania where Leuciscus leuciscus is known to have survived and the Cri$ul Alb/Feher-K6r0s one of the two rivers in Romania where Zingel streber has retained its former abundance. Human impact has negatively affected mainly the fish fauna of the tributary BarcSu/Berettyó.
