Abstract
This paper is about Hungarian sentences containing two topic expressions. It deals with that whether there is relation between the sequence and activation level of these topic expressions. At first I briefly present the concept of topic and the relation between topic and activation. Then I suggest I method that is suitable for determining the activation of referents numerically. On the grounds of this research the followings can be pointed out. Topic expressions with bigger activation level tend to precede ones with smaller activation level. Topic expressions appearing as subjects tend to precede non-subjective topic expressions. In some special sentences topic expressions with smaller activation level have to appear as pronouns for the sake of avoiding unacceptable sentences.
