The article of Murthy, Pal and Majumder [l] gives a new interpretation of the connectives in fuzzy sets claiming that these connectives preserve the whole Boolean structure of ordinary set theoretic operations. In our paper a counter example is given where the property of associativity is not valid for the new connectives.
