Abstract

In this note we first make a modest improvement of an inequality of Brown-Lomonosov-Simonic on certain transitive operator algebras. Then we use a result of Foias-Pasnicu-Voiculescu to provide similar inequalities for algebras generated by a quasitriangular operator.
