Abstract
This work represents a study of pétrographie properties, differential thermal analysis and лг-ray diffraction study of carbonate rocks of the Qatrani formation of Oligocene age in Fayoum Province, Egypt. These carbonate rocks can be grouped into three major textural and compositional types. Microcrystalline dolostones or dolomicrite, gypsiferous dolomicrite and dolomitic sandstones.
