Abstract

Two alkaline, geochemically different rocks can be found in many places in the granite mass of the Mórágy Hill and Ófalu Complex, which described as "bostonites" by Mauritz and Csajághy (1952). In earlyer petrographical and penological articles the author proved that these rocks are not part of the Early Carboniferous granite magmatism, but consideration of these rocks happened parallely to that of the Early Cretaceous alkaline magmatism. The distribution of immobile trace elements of the trachiandesites of Kismórágy is very similar to the distribution of immobile trace elements of the Early Cretaceous phonotephrite rocks of the Mecsek Mts. While the distribution of immobile trace elements of trachytes of the Mórágy Hill andÓfalu Complex is very similar to the distribution of immobile trace elements of the Early Cretaceous phonolite rocks of the Mecsek Mts. The alkaline, trachyte rocks of the Mórágy Hill and Ófalu Complex are the saturated end-members of the Early Cretaceous alkaline rock series of the Mecsek Mts. I have a question, as a fallow: What kind of petrogenetic processes generated the trachyte rocks of the Mórágy Hill and Ófalu Complex?
