Abstract
In the 1230s the mongolians attacked Eastern-Europe. The cumans, living in the south-russian steppe, were defeated. As a result the cuman prince called Kuthen requested permission from the hungarian king to proceed to Hungary. Bela IV. permitted to do so. The cuman prince came to Hungary in 1239. In the bibliography there are two views to date this event more exacdy. According to the first it took place in the autumn of 1239, but the other says it happened at Easter in 1239. In my essay I will show that there is no source for either of the opinions.
