The author of the study introduces the types of measures that can be investigated by the independent Police Complaints Board in such cases, when a citizen complains the behavior of a policeman conducted in course of the criminal procedure. In connection with the above the study first of all deals with the competence of the Independent Police Complaints Board, which is regulated by the Act XXXIV of 1994 on the Police. Then the author introduces and classifies with practical examples the complaints regarding the police acts (omissions) taken during a criminal procedure. How can the Independent Police Complaints Board investigate: 1. claims regarding police measures taken before the criminal procedure was started, 2. claims regarding police measures taken in course of the criminal procedure, but falling into the competence of the Police Act, 3. claims regarding police measures taken in course of the criminal procedure, but not falling into the competence of the Act on Criminal Procedure (e.g. the note of the policeman).
