Abstract
The author presents a special Hungarian institution: the places of authentication from beginings to 19th century. The places of authentication were one of the best important elements of the Hungarian lawsystem in the medieval ages. The issued charters by the places of authentication are precious sources of the Hungarian medieval ages.
