Abstract
By analysing the museum history and the museum representations of the family archives preserved in the Nagyatád City Museum collection, I intend to examine the following questions: how do the family, the local community and the local museum form and subsequently interpret the life stories emerging from the documents? What connections can be revealed between diff erent forms of memory (family memory, local social memory and cultural memory represented by the museum); furthermore between memory and identity?
