Abstract
Membrane separation processes have been widely developed in the last decades. In our work was focused on the main properties and configuration of the different membrane operations, and the theoretical background of membrane transport phenomena. Furthermore, experimental results of the Department of Process Engineering of the University of Szeged was summarized related to investigation of membrane processes in combination with different pre- and post-treatments for food technology applications, food industry byproducts and waste utilization.
