Abstract

In her study the author tries to reinforce the hypothesis that the Hungarian system of the objectiv conjugation functionally covers also the objects in 1 s t and 2n d person. In her oppinion, only those are to be classified as so-called subjective personal suffixes which imply no other references but to the person of the subject, so their use does not depend on whether there is or there may be an object in the sentence. These are opposed to the verbal forms which — beyond the subject's person — refer to a determinate object, — an object - determined contextually, cognitionally or by the situation — they are even able to represent such an object /like the subject similarly determinate/ in the sentence. So it is not only the verbal forms referring to a determinate object in third person that constitute the transitive paradigm, but also the suffixes -lak, jlek referring to an object in 2n d person belong here, as well as each verbal form that refers to an object in 1 s t and 2n d person can be looked upon as objective form. The latter ones, in the author's opinion, are merely homonymous with the forms that refer solely to the subject's person; however only a narrower semantical group of the trans t sitive verbs may occur with reference to an object in 1 and 2 n d person: it is their particular semantical content which allows the meaning of an object in 1 s t or 2n d person - given in the context, situation or in the cognizance — to be adapted to the verbal suffix having originally expressed only the person of the subject.
