Abstract
In this publication the authors are discussed the importance of the culture in the road transportation safety management. The improvement of the safety of road transport is an EU and as well as national level pursuit. From many phenomenons what are happens in the business life it can be concluded that in the risk-takings of the road transport organizations there is in the first group the some degree of giving up of the safety level which is generally explained by economic pressures and also competition situations. But this is not the exact answer. The irresponsible risk-taking and rule-avoiding behavior is not only an economic competition necessity but also is a cultural factor too. The development of the road transportation safety culture is the essential condition of the improvement of road safety. This development will be only most successful if the realization of the aim is based on the coordinated and complex solutions and as well as that is supported by EU and national level policy. And also important condition is that the economic and scientific organizations need to be able to cooperate in this issue. In order to make to be possible the more former implementation of results of safety culture researches in the practice.
