Abstract
Tanulmányomban néhány megjegyzést szeretnék tenni egy ismeretlen származási helyű boiótiai felirathoz. A legfontosabb kérdések, melyekre választ kívánok adni, a következők: ki ajánlotta fel a feliratot – ezen belül Hippias személyét kísérlem meg azonosítani. Hol állhatott a szobor, a fővárosban, Thébaiban vagy netán Thespiai városában? Kit ábrázolhatott Lysippos által készített remekmű, a nagy harcos Pelopidast vagy esetleg a bölcs Epameinóndast? Kitérek továbbá a szobor felállításának lehetséges dátumára, mert az támpontként elsődlegesen befolyásolhatja a fenti kérdések megválaszolását. Végül mindezekre válaszolva állítok fel egy lehetséges hipotézist. In my essay, I would like to make some reflections upon a Boiotian inscription pf unknown origin. The most significant questions I am trying to address are as follows: who was it offered by? Where could it stand, in the capital city (Thebai) or in the town of Thespiai? Moreover, who could be depicted by the Lysippus’ classic – Pelopidas, the great warrior or the famously wise Epameinondas? Furthermore, I will also touch upon the possible chronology of the statue’s erection, since this could primarily affect the answers above. Eventually, considering all the above, I will propose a feasible theory to answer all of these questions.
