This paper summarizes and gives a comprehensive review of the experimental results on the teliospores of Ustilago nuiydis carried out in our Laboratory by LM and TEM methods. Besides the importance of melanins, this review is about the effects of high temperature, partial degradation and X-ray irradiation of the teliospores.
