Abstract
The present research aims to explore the conflicts and interactions among the tourism stakeholders in Hajdúszoboszló. The most severe problem in this popular destination is the illegal provision of tourist accommodation, which results in tax avoidance. On the short run this behaviour decreases the tax revenues of the central and local governments, as well as it reinforces agressive price competition among the legal accommodation providers. The phenomenon may also have medium and long-term impacts, as the financial resources allocated for the development of the destination will be reduced if the local revenues and the profits of the legal accommodation providers decline. In this study a solution is proposed to encourage tourists to opt for the legal accommodation services.
