In my article I examine a management framework – namely the EFQM Excellence Model – which, in my opinion, is insufficiently immersed in the hungarian management culture. I introduce the named Model by analysing it. I bring the Model’s methodology and the viewpoint of the scientific management literature into harmony. By the method of content analysis, I connect the criterias and sub-criterias of the Model to the well-known management functions. With this, I demonstrate that the Model is greatly suitable for using it in domestic management research. In my further research, I focus on the leading management function, and management style. Consequently, I put emphasis on examining the presence of this management function in the Model. I aim to find out in what extent is the Model suitable for examining the leading function. With this article, I intend to contribute to the work of making the EFQM Excellence Model more cognizable and, as a result, more admitted among the hungarian managers and management researchers.
