Abstract
Under the peace treaty of Zadar in 18th February 1358, Dalmatia and the Dalmatian cities had got under the rule of king Louis I. After all Raguza (nowadays Dubrovnik), one of the Dalmatian cities made an agreement with the Hungarian ruler. More diplomatical remembrances of the political event are known, which are published now in a form of excerpts. By the investigation of the charters, researchers can gain knowledge not only about the history of this historical event, but also about the excessive negotiating power of Raguza. Furthermore one can examine the legal base which established the possibility of separate inner and foreign policy of the city within the Hungarian Kingdom. Unfortunately the original agreement cannot be studied in our country. Refer to József Gelcich the document – which was issued in 27th May – has existed in two different exemplars. One of them surely, the other one maybe is reserved in Raguza. It will be the task of future research to collect them and make a critical edition of them.
