Abstract
Tanulmányomban a Tabula Cebetis sztoikus vonásait fogom megvizsgálni, mivel azonban a magyar klasszika filológia – véleményem szerint – méltatlanul mellőzte e művet, érdemes röviden bemutatni. Korábban számos megválaszolatlan kérdés kötődött a Tabula Cebetishez, amelyeknek döntő többségére már sikerült választ találni. Egy ilyen fontos pont a datálás kérdése, amelyet Karl Prächter doktori disszertációja1 lexikai és stilisztikai érvekkel megnyugtatóan tisztázott. Nincs azonban nyugvópont a szerzőséggel kapcsolatban, ahogy a filozófiai besorolással kapcsolatban sem. In this article, I try to introduce the so-called Tablet of Cebes, which is a philosophical dialogue written in Greek and originated from the first century AD. I summarize the problems that appeared during the research, more precisely the problems of authorship and the philosophical classification of the work. It can be observed that diverse philosophical teachings emerge in the dialogue, but the stoic ethic is the most discernible. It is obvious then that the tablet is close to the stoicism, but it is not completely a stoic work. In the future, I would like to shed light on various other philosophical teachings of the Cebes’ Tablet.
