Abstract
The word formation of the mongol horse colour names: The research of colour names has been an interesting topic for people and the science. In the mongol culture the horse has a dedicated role in every field of their lives, even so the horse colour names not fully collected or researched. In this research I analyze the classical mongol horse colour names, what I collected, with a morphological way. For the research I have more than 50 datas, which I mostly collected from György Kara’s Mongolian-Hungarian (Kara 1998), Ferdinand Lessing’s Mongolian-English (Lessing 1960) dictionaries and from a few word lists. First of all I show the research history and the sources then I classify the datas to two morphological group and I present the ways of the word formation.
