Abstract
The viewer who saw too much The feminist examination of Repulsion : The aim of this paper is the feminist analysis of the visual features of some movie scenes and camera shots in roman Polanski’s Repulsion (1965). I would also prove this creation demonstrates that phallocentric society oppresses women. In my paper, I mainly focus on a certain scene, where voyeurism is immensely important. This “scopophilia” reveals that the moviegoers are the real voyeurs (for instance, The imaginary signifier by Christian Metz and Cinema as Window and Frame by Thomas Elsaesser and Malte Hagener). starting from this position I conclude that the subjective camera shot and the previous act’s context create a metalepsis. The aim of the metalepsis reveals the collective social problem that is the sexual oppression against women.
