Abstract
After the millennium, the digital revolution of our age has reached agriculture in a more and more dynamic way. After the democratic turn of 1989, the collapsing and later restructured agrarian enterprises were lagging behind in the IT field for a considerable period. Due to the ownership structure of enterprises, the special nature of production processes, the long production cycles and low profitability, few individualised IT developments were made for them. The age and qualification of employees did not enhance the use of IT tools, either. In my questionnaire survey based on representative sampling, I examined the IT characteristics of agrarian enterprises in relation to the question whether the ownership structure of enterprises, the age of the decision maker, their gender or qualification affect the IT application characteristics of the enterprises and their attitudes to IT technologies.
