Abstract

Risk and uncertainty are topics that have been a concern to professionals for a long time. Specialization in these topics was not important back then but with decades passing it grew to a legitimate profession with extensive literature. Many fields produced new definitions which show us a diverse picture. At the same time the methods of risk analysis and risk handling began to develop. After rewieving these topics below, i will examine the sector of higher education and try to interpret the concepts related to risks and uncertainties, identifying the risk bearers, the types of risks and i will put an emphasis on the examination of the human factor and the risk handling possibilities related to it. Just like in other areas, here we also have to highlight the importance of the human factor in the system. In higher education, it is indeed important to manage the inherent risks and uncertainties.
