Abstract

Due to globalisation and labour market changes, new perspectives will be accessible for employees. A talented workforce is hard to attract, but retaining them is even more challenging. For younger generations, we can not make an impact with only financial rewards. Employee’s loyal behaviour can be strengthened by giving them the opportunity to choose gaining experience from global platforms. The research includes a survey based questionnaire which was carried out at the University of Debrecen. University students who are one step away from entering into the labour market were asked about the attractiveness of international assignments, their career anchors and career paths, and also to evaluate some of the factors in an assignment. As a career choice must be made and searching for the ideal job cannot be delayed, collecting enough information on the labour market and participate actively is absolutely necessary to prepare for the challenge. This generation will take a big part of future international assignments, so it is unquestionable to receive information about their preferences and expectations of their future jobs.
