The reform the administration of local municipalities was established after the compromise in 1867 in Hungary. The administration system was regulated in the Act 42 of 1870. The aim of the Hungarian government was the hold the public construction of the system of dualistic Monarchy. The city council was the one of the most important administration organ in the city life. I will examine the regulation and operation of the city council, special attention to the administration offices and office holders in my study. This reform was the first step in the new administration system in the 19th century.
