Abstract
After the reannexation of Southland, they wished to provide country-wide resonance within the frames of a big celebration to the newer territorial growth. The event taking place with the participation of the regent built on the harvest festival of the folk tradition. Thus the Fest of the Hungarian Bread was organised with bright appearances in Subotica. Several important role-players of the Hungarian public life were present at it with the lead of Bárdossy head of the government, and the radio broadcasted it. It was directed to the inhabitants of a country entering war. It reinforced for them that the war took place for the protection of the country, that every citizen must take a hand in it, that the calling of the Hungarians was to be the fighter and the farmer, which was represented by the person of Miklós Horthy the best. The bright celebration, the ploughmen’s big parade served as propaganda for the political system for the country entering the war of the great powers.
