After clarifying what school health promotion is all about, the concept of the good healthy school is presented. Within this concept health is seen as an important resource for positive development. It links health and education in an innovative way for students, teachers and the school as well: Quality of school education will be improved by health interventions. Thus it overcomes the limitations of the traditional approach of the health promoting school. School health management is the strategy to implement the concept of the good healthy school. Further important steps in developing school health promotion are mentioned: To identify the educational and health quality of interventions in schools, e.g. programs for school health promotion and education and linking school health promotion with community development.
