Abstract
Looking through research on Mozart, we find strikingly little material about the serenades and divertimentos. Most studies cover these genres in a short chapter, at most, or only mention them briefly. In 2006, the year of Mozart, several new publications appeared, but serenades were still left out of the focus of music researchers. However, these pieces, with their unique forms and sounds, play a significant role in the whole of Mozart’s work.
