Absztrakt (kivonat)
The subject of my paper is the therapeutic effects of music in different branches of social work, emphasizing its interdisciplinarity and innovative nature. Besides the numerous positive effects of music as a therapy it can play an important role in prevention, course of treatment and rehabilitation as well. Despite a number of advantages, music as a therapy is neglected and often overlooked in the social sphere and in public health institutes as well. Due to the nature of my topic I conducted several interviews with professionals of different areas and people with first-hand experiences such as a music teacher, a social worker working with drug addicts and one in elderly care, the mother of an autistic child and a wheelchair dancer. According to my research and my experiences about the lack of information on the topic of the therapeutic effects of music, classes specialized in this topic would be highly beneficial in the education of social professionals, all sorts of teachers and certian medical professionals. Furthermore, the significance of thorough knowledge of the therapeutic effects of music should be emphasized and the integration of such knowledge and techniques should be integrated in the everyday practices of the mentioned professions.
