Absztrakt (kivonat)
The present paper follows the career of a medieval noble family in Saris County between the 13th and 16th Centuries. The ancestor of Gyarman was a diplomat of Bela IV. around the middle of the 14th Century the family members of the examined family divided their estate into five parts. Hence, they established several independent noble families. The family Gyarman gave several members to the county administration, also some of the family members had a high local prestige. They were elected to noble judge and juryman while Anthony Gyármán of Prócs became notary. It turned out that at the beginning of theló* Century the notary of the county not just formulated the charters of Saris County, but he also attended some fieldwork as a delegate of the alispán in the magisterial investigations. Anthony had a widespread network of social relationships, for instance due to his marital connections he was also the member of a family which gave powerful landlords (bene possessionati), the family of Kapi.
