A tanulmány egy hallgatói előítélet csökkenését felvállaló program bemutatására vállalkozik. A Nyíregyházi Főiskola, mint partnerintézmény 2010 és 2012 között vett részt a GOOD START projektben. Az intézmény tanító és andragógia szakos hallgatói családlátogatásokon, óvodai programokon és a roma szülők részvételével létrejött MesÉD programokon való aktív közreműködéssel kapcsolódtak a projekthez, amelynek segítségével fejlődött önismeretük, kommunikációs és kapcsolatépítő készségük. Mindezek jelentősen hozzájárultak a hallgatók romákkal szembeni előítéletének csökkentéséhez. A programban szerzett tapasztalatokat remélhetőleg későbbi munkájuk során is jól tudják majd hasznosítani. The College of Nyíregyháza was contributing to the implementation of the Good Start project’s activities from 2010 to 2012 as a partner organization. Students and professors of two faculties of the institution were participating in the project: from the Faculty of Teacher Training students majoring in elementary school education are instrumental to the program “MesÉD” (“Your Story”), students majoring in andragogy and social studies at the Faculty of Economics and Social Sciences are contributing to the program’s success through support services. The students of the college gave an account enthusiastically about their experience. The taking part in the classroom observations on lessons „Your Story” helped the developments of the social competencies (self-knowledge, communication, contact creation) in the students, and getting to know with other culture contributed to the reduction of prejudices. During the dealing with the children they could practice their future profession.
