Abstract

Sociological analyses, main researches, theoretical backgrounds concerning the Jewry of Hungary from 1990 to present day : The aim of this essay is to give a short summary of the researches concerning the Jewry of Hungary in the fields of sociology, historical sociology, social and political history that were carried out by the Hungarian experts on this subject after the change of the regime. Concerning this subject most surveys, - even if oscularly - but certainly rely on historical grounds. It’s inevitable, for example, to examine the social and historical context in which the phenomenon appeared and existed to the interpretation of the definition of anti- Semitism . Upon the examination of the phenom enon of assimilation we have to take into account that it generally takes place during a longer process. While we examine the Jewish identity it's inevitable to take the social repercussions of the Holocaust on the individuals' fate and world conception into consideration. hus during the processing of this subject I took the above factors into account. In this work I tried to keep the sociological approach, and select the most significant and relevant pieces of scientific literature
