Abstract
This study presents and analyses a soldier letter from the First World War. This case study shows aletter from Ferencz Balogh, a Hungarian soldier from ‘the Royal Hungarian ‘Honvédség’ (Defence Forces). This historical source contains important dates from the life of Ferenc Balogh. He was killed in action, but his family don’t know exactly where and when. My first aim is to highlight those dates that might help us to identify the life story of Ferenc Balogh. The second aim is to publicate this letter that shows us the nature of the world war from a first hand account.
