Abstract
This essay is based on the research of two types of historical sources. One is the Historia Domus which compulsorily continued on the parish. It is a subjective, diary-type source with a stable tematical order reflecting the character and personal world view of the priest, through with we could size up apicture on the effect of the WW I. on the religious practice of the hinterland and of the sacrificies made by the rural population coordinated by priests. The second source is the Litterae Circulare which functiones as the bulletin of the diocese delineating the announcements and expectations of the bishopric centre, the commitments of the Catholic Church and the national church toward the clergy and the Christians. Now it seems obvious that the mediator function of the clergy, their participation in the organization of the social sacrifices was prominently important and their personal contribution was indispensable ensuring the wartime capacity of the country and to help coming over the losses of the casulties of war.
