Abstract
The author analysed the popular prayers and Christ legends of Szeged, in the southern part of the Great Hungarian Plain. He established that the most frequently occurred names and characters in the prayers are: St. Peter, St. Paul, St. Luke, St. John, St. Anna, St. Benedict, St. Anthony, St. Ambrosius, St. Joseph, St. Margaret and St. Bernard. In the legends besides the figure of Christ only St. Peter appears.
