Abstract
Gödöllő used to be a place of summer residency of aristocrats, later emperors and governors. The church of the adjoining settlement, Máriabesnyő is a famous place of devotion in the region. These factors strongly determine the characteristics of the presented sacred monuments which are followed from the 18lb century until today (1996).
