Abstract
Kiszombor belonged to the estate of the Rónay family since the 1700s. Now it is mostly populated by Catholics. Today there are 12 crucifixes in the inner and outer districts of the village. Part of these roadside monuments has been erected by the patron, the rest by private individuals. In most of the cases, the history of the monument and the name of the raiser are known. There are several chapels and a partly ruined calvary decorating the cemetery. The cemetery of the Rónays has been neglected, and the buildings are in a ruined condition. Inside the village, there is a statue of Saint Stephen and a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk that were renovated by a foundation operating in the village. The church is famous for the depiction of Christ with Chains (Christ in Prison). On the gable of one of the houses in the village, you can see a statue of the Virgin Mary, which is very rare in this region.
