Abstract
The legal background of afforestation procedures connected to the Government’s traffic infrastructure-related investments. The essay deals with Hungarian afforestation rules, with special consideration for its correlation to the Government’s infrastructure-related investments. The essay presents the development of the afforestation law, the basics of public road system development, and the minute details of afforestation rules. The author dedicates a separate chapter to the basics of forestation, and through all of this, he attempts to show the conflict of interests between afforestation and infrastructure-related investments. To solve this conflict, the author presents foreign models, which he then uses in his own suggested solution to this problem, with the Indian model serving as a leading example.
