Abstract
¿Qué significaría vivir en ciudades diseñadas para fomentar sentimientos de conexión con el océano? Cómo deberían las ciudades costeras anticipar su planificación dado el cambio climático generalizado y el aumento del nivel del mar en el planeta? Beatley (2014) cree que la relación entre el desarrollo urbano y el océano necesita ser repensada. En este contexto, se observa que varias regiones portuarias se sometieron a procesos de revitalización. La ciudad de Río de Janeiro, con el proyecto Porto Maravilha fue uno de ellos, esta intervención sufrió numerosos cambios durante su proceso de implementación que cuestionaron el papel real de esta gran operación urbana y cuál sería su preocupación con su bahía. What would it mean to live in cities designed to foster feelings of connection to the ocean? How should coastal cities anticipate their planning given the widespread climate change and rising sea levels on the planet? Beatley (2014) believes that the relationship between urban development and the ocean needs to be rethought. In this context, it is observed that several port regions underwent revitalization processes. The city of Rio de Janeiro, with the Porto Maravilha project was one of them, this intervention underwent numerous changes during its implementation process which brought into question the real role of this grand urban operation and what would be its concern with its bay.
