After the World War I the independent Hungary faced one – or in some point of view two – revolution and right after the state and the people started to wake from such losses, the Treaty of Trianon meant a whole new problem. The judicial system in Hungary was separated from public administration only a few decades ago and was tailored for a way bigger country with specialities such as port, special regions, and a higher commercial life. After World War I Hungary became independent, but as a first movement the kingdom was changed to republic just for a couple of months to be replaced by a communistic dictatorship for 133 days. After abolishing the communist party by the Romanian forces from Budapest, the months of invasion started, and several short-term governments tried to repair the judicial system as well as the country and the economy. The months of the republic and soviet republic meant a lot of changes in the judicial system, however after the restitution the former system, known from the kingdom – as well as the kingdom itself but without a king – was restored. Between the World Wars, the tribunals and courts had many changes to face the consequences of the loss that Hungary had to suffer until several parts of the former country were given back after the decisions in Vienna.
