Abstract
A conjecture has spread in the literature on Attila József that Ferenc Móra, one of the most popular writers of that time, wrote an article about the young poet. This article, however, is not known, and thus the question arises as to whether it was written at all. The study takes into account the circumstances that seemed to support the statements in the literature, and reconstructs what really happened. Thus, beyond annulling the legend, a few important moments of the life of the young Attila József becomes clear.
