Abstract
My research field is criminal offenses relating to counterfeiting currencies and philatelic forgeries. In my current study I will analyze the criminal law regulation regarding counterfeiting money in Anglo Saxon countries. As for methodology the contribution is based on legal literature in the topics of legal history, criminal law, criminology and comparative law. The first part of the study deals with the legal history of counterfeiting money in England and in North America. In the second I analyze the current regulation regarding counterfeiting money in the U.K. and in the USA. The third part summarizes the recent trend regarding counterfeiting of the US Dollar and the British Pound. The final part describes the operation of the United States Secret Service in combatting counterfeiting money and draws conclusions.
