Abstract
The author would like to present the atmosphere of special court dealing with press matters (common jury) in this essay. After a short historical introductory chapter the dogmatic of organising of press juries can be red calling attention to the solving of several European countries. After it you can meet the summarising of departmental orders connected with jury after 1867 until the Criminal Process Code in 1896. The main chapter contains the sketch of process by jury from its beginning until the penal authorities. It includes the fundamental principles, the roll of the investigating judge, the public attorney, the judges, the layers and the defendant as well, also the establishing and working of the jury and the verdict itself. In the third part of the essay the author presents several contemporary opinions about the functioning of press juries in the beginning of the dualistic era. Finally an interesting case comes about the problems of creating the list of jurymen in Debrecen.
