Abstract

Decentralized energy production from renewable ressources - both, through the usage of biogas as fuel originator and as basic ressource for feeding into the available gas grids - hold great and currently underdeveloped potential to reduce these dependencies and further foster Europe's leadership postion within this key areas of innovation. The "SEBE" project aims at coordinated further development of biogas utilization, technology and transnational competence knowledge center within the CENTRAL program area. By using a transnational approach the project consortia establishes a common understanding of possibilités, policies and frameworks (legal, economics, finance, technical, R&D, logistics and human ressources) throughout the programm area, coordinates these frameworks and research through Transnational Knowledge Management (TKM) tool, establishes guidelines and a transnational strategy for future education and training on the biogas sector as a whole. Moreover, agricultural byproducts, waste, processing wastes, animal manure, waste water treatment and food waste are taken into account, multiple of the needful ingredients of biogas production can easily be found in Hungary. The utilization of biomass will have positive effects on energy process and environment protection. The utilisation of biogas applications can have even greater importance if the generated biogas will be loaded into the national gas network as an alternative way to direct energy generation by biogas. The territorial approach for organising the logistic process of biomass collection can also make an important contribution to the economic viability of biogas applications. The transnational competence network will provide professional help to all these development throughout the Central European countries. We are actively looking for partners among the companies that are active in the energy sector in Hungary and in the neighbouring countries, as well.
