Abstract
This study aims to explore how the concept of loyalty can describe the relationship of Transylvanian Jews with the Romanian state and the Transylvanian Hungarian minority between 1918 and 1940. The first part of the study outlines the conceptual framework for the analysis and defines the meaning of loyalty during the interwar period. Subsequently, the study examines the Romanian state's policies towards the Jews and analyzes the declarations of loyalty made by Transylvanian Jews during this period.
