Absztrakt (kivonat)
One of the most pressing issues in contemporary international politics is the transformation of the world order. Due to the relative decline of the United States’ power, certain major powers have emerged, questioning the existing world order. These countries are known as status quo seekers, with China being by far the most potent player among them. In my study, I will analyze whether China can assume the role of global hegemon, from various analytical perspectives. Following a theoretical introduction, I will first explain how the United States lost its hegemonic position, and then focus on China. In China’s case, I will examine the key aspects that are essential for constructing an accurate and comprehensive picture, such as economic and military strength. Furthermore, I will explore how China’s stance appears in the media and strategic documents. Finally, by summarizing my research findings, I will attempt to answer the question raised.
