Abstract
The author of the essay polemizing with László Kocziány, the editor of Borsos's works, declares that the knowledge of Philon does not by all means indicate an effect of Philon. On one hand, the quotations to verify this are not unambiguous. On the other hand — and this is the essence — there are some concepts which were to develop only in the Renaissance (so had not been raised by Philon) however, they can be found in Borsos's works. Therefore, the author of the essay seeking the origin of the spiritual effect stresses Justus Lipsius' role instead of Philon's, not denying the significance of the writer's knowing Philon.
