description: The author analyses the manuscripts of the vocabulary found in Gottingen and Leningrad, (known as Fischer's vocabulary) Vocabularium Harmonicum of G.F. Milller and the parts of three anonymous vocabularies which were written in the Chuvash language and to be found in the Archives of the Academy of USSR (Observationes Historicae in Sibiria, Slovesnik na raznyh jazykah, Russko-tatarsko-ieremissko- -cuvasskij slovar'). Her most important conclusions are: 1. Of the six wordlists only the Chuvash matter of the Observationes.... has value as a source the others are copies. (The author makes the connection clear between the copies). 2. The part in the Kazan, Siberian Tatar and Chuvash languages of the Leningrad manuscript of Fischer's vocabulary is not only a simple copy, it is the first Turkic etymological and Siberian Tatar dialectological dictionary which was completed by a Polish anonymous author who spelt it with a specifically Polish orthography. 3. Fischer took no part in the collecting or the copying of the Chuvash material in either of the two versions of the vocabulary attributed to him.
