A statistical analysis is used to determine the relations between the data concerning qualitative and quantitative composition of the corpora, the sizes of text units at different levels, and the subordination of clauses and phrases. The goal of this analysis is twofold: to examine the characteristics of the dynamism of indices as well as their appropriateness in giving an objective measure to developing language use. The most important observations are the following: (1) in texts with fewer-than-average words per phrase word repetitions tend to be more frequent; (2) word repetitions are independent of phrasal hierarchy; (3) the role of expressions of higher abstraction is more prevalent in the explication of paragraph size texts than in whole texts; (4) the extent and quality of individual vocabulary and the structures embedding clauses and phrases are interdependent; (S) the size of clauses is related to the depth of phrases; (6) the depth ot phrases is not related to the size of text or the depth of clauses or iteration. %Z Bibliogr.: p. 147-148. ; összefoglalás angol nyelven
