After the second millenium Russia was able to recuperate. The annexation of Crimea was the most important caesura at the postCold War era. This agression made clear in the West that the old paradigm was lost and the new era – more fluid and open-ended – had begun. Russia refuses the American hegemonic world order and protects its own geopolitical intrests. This paper’s goal is to examine the actions that Moscow made against the western challenges in light of the annexation of Crimea. We have to examine the Russian and the western interpretation of this crisis, and explore the truth of the Russian standpoint that says: Crimea had joined the Federation in accordance with international standards. For the geopolitical context we also have to draw up the bilateral relations between Russia and the western world. The post-Cold War paradigm failed – this paper analyzes the reasons that led to the RussianUkrainian conflict. date: 2019 type: Könyv része type: NonPeerReviewed format: part language: hu identifier: http://acta.bibl.u-szeged.hu/62338/1/moraakademia_006_230-256.pdf identifier: Mogyorósi Renátó: Oroszország helye a nap alatt II. : az ötnapos háborútól a Krím inkorporálásáig.
